A team of dedicated employees from Northside Truck & Van have raised an incredible £5,556 for our Hospice after taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in memory of a colleague’s sister and in recognition of the care the Hospice provided to her family.
On Saturday 13 June 2026, 24 colleagues laced up their walking boots and set out to conquer the iconic 24-mile route across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Driven by a shared determination to give back, the team battled strong winds, steep climbs and aching legs to complete one of Yorkshire’s toughest fundraising challenges.
The challenge was inspired by the compassionate care our Hospice provided to Alyson and her family during an incredibly difficult time. Wanting to honour her memory and help other local families facing similar circumstances, colleagues came together to raise vital funds.
Every member of the team completed at least one of the three peaks, while the fastest group reached all three summits in an impressive eight hours and 17 minutes. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, colleagues and supporters, the team surpassed their fundraising target, raising £5,556 plus Gift Aid.

The care and compassion shown to her and her family meant so much, and this challenge was our way of saying thank you.”
Every step we took was driven by the knowledge that the money raised will help ensure other local families receive the same outstanding care and support when they need it most. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is an amazing achievement in itself, but to raise more than £5,500 while doing so is truly inspiring. The donation will fund more than 11 days of patient care at The Prince of Wales Hospice, helping provide specialist care and the essential support services that make such a difference to patients and their loved ones.”
