Our annual Ison Harrison & PWH Golf Open has raised an impressive £11,600, as businesses from across the region came together at Pontefract and District Golf Club to support local hospice care.
Following the success of this year’s event, we’re pleased to confirmed the Golf Open will expand in 2027 with a second event at Darrington Golf Club.
More than 20 teams took part in the event, enjoying a day of friendly competition on the course before gathering for an evening presentation, dinner and fundraising activities. The event was led by principal sponsor Ison Harrison Solicitors as part of their three-year partnership with the Hospice, alongside support from SoluPak and Lagentium Insurance Brokers.
Competition on the day was fierce, with the team from G3 Remarketing securing first place, followed by Ison Harrison Solicitors’ Team2 in second. Guests also heard from special guest speaker Daniella Sutton, British Formula 4 Racing driver, who shared insights from the world of motorsport and helped make the evening a memorable occasion.
The Golf Open has become an opportunity for businesses from across the region to network, build relationships and support a shared cause. Events such as these demonstrate how the local business community can come together to make a meaningful difference for local families while strengthening connections beyond the workplace.
The £11,600 raised will help cover the care of one patient for just over three weeks (including health care, catering, and housekeeping). With only around 35% of our funding coming from the NHS, we rely on the support of businesses, donors and fundraisers to ensure care remains available free of charge.

The enthusiasm we’ve seen for the event has given us the confidence to expand in 2027, creating even more opportunities for businesses to come together and support local hospice care.
The Golf Open will return to Pontefract & District Golf Club on Friday 4 June 2027, with a second event taking place at Darrington Golf Club on Friday 10 September 2027.
