Sixteen employees from Sigma Group took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and raised more than £10,000 for our Hospice.
Setting off at 6am, the team battled wind, rain and steep climbs as they tackled one of Yorkshire’s most demanding walking challenges. Participants pushed themselves to complete as much of the route as they could, with some reaching one peak, some two and others all three.
Supported by colleagues, customers, suppliers and business partners, the team went on to raise an incredible £10,000 for the Hospice.
Sarah Hunter, from Sigma Group, said: “It was fantastic to see so many colleagues come together and take on this challenge. It gave people from across the business the chance to support one another, build new relationships and achieve something together outside of work. We’d also like to thank everyone who donated and supported the team along the way.”
Emma Thwaite, Community & Partnerships Fundraiser here at the Hospice, said: “Raising more than £10,000 is an incredible achievement. This amount could fund more than two weeks of care for a hospice patient, covering everything from specialist healthcare to catering and housekeeping.”

We provide specialist care and support for people living with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families and loved ones.
As a charity, we rely on the support of our local community, businesses and fundraisers to continue providing our services free of charge. With only around 35% of our funding provided by the NHS, we need to raise more than £3.5 million each year to continue delivering our care.
