Celebrating Ladies Spring Luncheon raises over £7,000 for our Hospice

14 May 2026

Our Hospice is proud to share the success of its first Celebrating Ladies Spring Luncheon, which raised £7,124.73, enough to provide two weeks of dedicated patient care.

The event, held on Friday 6 March 2026 at Darrington Golf Club, brought together women from across the community for an afternoon focused on connection and support for local hospice care.

As a new addition to the Hospice’s fundraising calendar, the Ladies Spring Luncheon offered guests the chance to enjoy great food, meaningful conversation and the opportunity to make a tangible difference to those receiving specialist care in the Five Towns area.

The programme featured a motivating talk on body confidence from model and advocate Rachel Peru, encouraging guests to embrace self acceptance. The afternoon was hosted by television journalist, presenter and one of our Hospice Patrons, Christine Talbot. Guests enjoyed welcome drinks and a two-course lunch catered by The Caring Kitchen. The venue was styled by Twinkle Events Company, Eadie Beadies and Michelle’s Flowers, while live music from Raea Music contributed to an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere. A raffle with a selection of high-quality prizes also played a key role in raising funds.

Emma Thwaite, one of our Community and Partnership Fundraisers, said:

The first Ladies Spring Luncheon was a beautiful celebration of community, generosity and women supporting women. From the inspiring speakers to the warm conversations around each table, the whole event felt incredibly uplifting. We are so thankful to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable afternoon, and knowing the event has funded two full weeks of specialist patient care makes it even more meaningful.
