The death of a loved one is an experience that can profoundly shape the course of our lives. Being a personal journey, grief often takes time and understanding to navigate. The emotions that go with loss can be overwhelming, and finding a way to process these feelings is crucial.
At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we recognise the challenges of grief, and our dedicated Bereavement Support services are here to provide compassionate help throughout your unique journey.
Understanding the grief journey
Grieving is a process that unfolds differently for each individual. It’s a journey marked by a range of emotions, from deep sorrow to moments of unexpected clarity. Recognising that grief is a personal and evolving experience, we offer support services tailored to individual needs and timelines.
The Hospice Bereavement Service: Supporting your journey
Our Hospice Bereavement Service is designed for carers, family members, and friends whose loved one was known to any of our hospice services. Available for individuals over 18 years old who have been bereaved for longer than four months and up to eight years ago, this service is designed to provide space for grief and offer psychological and emotional support.
What We Offer in the Hospice Bereavement Service:

- Bereavement Trainee Counsellors and Counsellors: These trainees offer 12 sessions, either by phone, online, or face-to-face, and provide a deeper level of therapeutic support.
