Fundraising highlights: March’s generous support

10 April 2026
As always, our community has amazed us with its generosity, compassion, and commitment to the Hospice.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout March. Your kindness helps us continue providing vital care to local people and their families. Here are some of this month’s highlights:

Ladies Spring Luncheon – an afternoon to remember

Our first Celebrating Ladies Spring Luncheon at Darrington Golf Club brought together women from across the community for an afternoon of laughter, inspiring conversations, and women supporting women. Guests enjoyed a two-course lunch from The Caring Kitchen Catering, an uplifting talk from Rachel Peru, and the afternoon was hosted by Christine Talbot. The event raised an incredible £7,124.73, enough to fund two full weeks of specialist patient care.

Suzi’s Boutique – fashion with heart

Suzi’s Boutique hosted an amazing fashion show, bringing people together for a night of fun while raising vital funds for patient care. From a busy pop-up shop to £2,200 raised, including £700 from the raffle alone, it was an evening to remember. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and supported the event, helping make a real difference for patients and families.

Ella’s Craft Packs – kindness in action

When seven-year-old Ella’s great-grandad was cared for at our Hospice, she wanted to give something back. With help from her mum Alison and cousin Poppy, Ella creates handmade activity packs for children visiting loved ones, filled with bracelet-making kits, handmade bookmarks, and colourful crafts. The family has already donated over 100 packs, supporting young visitors and raising funds through their small business, Polliella Designs.

Reindeer Run – a festive community success

From classrooms to playgrounds, our community really got behind our Reindeer Run. Participants donned reindeer antlers and ran, walked, and skipped to raise an incredible £52,308 for the Hospice! This amazing total was made possible by schools, pupils, and families across our community, and we thank every single person who helped make it happen.

Target Components – Charity of the Year 2026

When Target Components Ltd visited our Hospice, they saw the difference our care makes every day. Inspired, they have chosen us as their Charity of the Year for 2026. Throughout the year, they will be fundraising, joining events like the Yorkshire 3 Peaks at Night and Pontefract 10K, and raising awareness of the vital work we do.
