As always, our community has amazed us with its generosity, compassion and unwavering commitment to the Hospice.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout February. Your kindness helps us continue providing vital care to local people and their families. Here are some of this month’s highlights:
Friday Revival – thank you for your continued support
We would like to say a huge thank you to Friday Revival for their extraordinary and continued support throughout 2025. From the Autumn social to quiz nights, breakfast on the farm, curry evenings, and so many other community gatherings, they have brought people together while raising an incredible £10,107.14 since they began supporting us. We are beyond grateful for their dedication not only in raising vital funds, but also for helping to strengthen and connect our local community.
LPA Lighting Systems, Normanton
A big thank you to LPA Lighting Systems – Normanton, who have raised a brilliant £994 over the last year through their golf day and festive Christmas Jumper Day.
The Old Grocers pub
We are delighted to thank The Old Grocers, who have raised an amazing £3,367.03 throughout 2025. Their generosity shines through in everything they do, from a dedicated “hospice quiz question” each week, to selling t‑shirts, raffles, collection tins and many other thoughtful fundraising activities. We are incredibly grateful for all their continued support and commitment to the Hospice.
Walk, Run, Ride Challenge – The Yorkshire Broker
The Yorkshire Broker are once again running their Walk, Run, Ride Challenge. The challenge invites people to sign up for just £25 and commit to completing 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles throughout April, with every penny raised coming directly to the Hospice. Everyone who completes their chosen distance will receive a medal as a keepsake, and participants can also choose to fundraise further if they wish to make an even bigger impact. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to get active, set themselves a personal challenge and support the Hospice at the same time.
WF8 Retail – Christmas market & raffle
Thank you to WF8 Retail, who invited us for a cheque presentation this February. Their Christmas Market in November, along with a festive raffle, raised a fantastic amount for the Hospice. We are so grateful for their support and their warm welcome.
A heartfelt gift from Elaine
Elaine very kindly donated a selection of chocolates for our nurses, along with two Dyson fans for our ward. Elaine wanted to express her thanks after her mum was cared for at the Hospice last year. Her generosity and kindness mean so much to our team.
New Year Raffle – first prize winner
Elaine and her grandson Henry, visited the Hospice today to collect her first prize from our New Year Raffle. Elaine has supported the Hospice for over 10 years, ever since her niece was cared for here 11 years ago. She regularly plays the Local Hospice Lottery and supports our appeals throughout the year. She plans to use her prize money to enjoy a well-deserved holiday with her family. We hope they have a really special time together.
