Easter at the Hospice

This Easter, it was the little things that made a real difference at the Hospice. Colourful eggs, craft packs and shared smiles helped make the day feel brighter.

Across the building, Easter gently wove itself into everyday life. One of the nurses’ stations became a simple craft area, with colouring sheets, quizzes and activities. Patients and visitors stopped for a while, picking up pencils, chatting, and taking a quiet moment to enjoy something creative together. For some people, it offered a chance to relax and focus on something cheerful. For others, it was simply a welcome pause. A light‑hearted moment during their time at the Hospice.

Colourful crafts, hidden eggs and shared smiles helped make Easter feel special for everyone.

Staff were part of the Easter fun too, taking part in a Hospice wide egg hunt that sent colleagues searching for hidden eggs in unexpected places. It brought laughter, friendly competition and shared moments between busy shifts.

Easter treats were also shared thanks to the kindness of Smiles For Miles. These small gifts were warmly received and added to the calm, celebratory feel throughout the Hospice.

Together, these simple moments, crafts, hidden eggs, kind gestures and quiet smiles helped make Easter feel brighter for patients, families and staff. It was a reminder that thoughtful touches, however small, can mean a great deal.

We are grateful to everyone who helps make moments like this possible. Through donations, volunteering and ongoing support, you help us continue creating a place of care, comfort and compassion. At Easter and every day of the year.

If you would like to help us create more moments like this, we would love your support. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference to local families. To find out how you can get involved, please visit www.pwh.org.uk/get-involved/
