Wonder Woman to our Rescue!

Wonder Woman, Aileen Danby, recently shaved her head to raise a whopping £1520 for The Prince of Wales Hospice!

Inspired by her niece Jordan, who is a Health Care Assistant at the Hospice, Aileen wanted to do her bit to help support us during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Aileen said; ' I chose to shave my hair to raise money for this wonderful charity because not many ladies shave their hair off, and I thought I'd be the brave lady who does it!'

Aileen set her date and started fundraising through a facebook fundraising page and also received cash donations that were sent to her.

With government restrictions in place, Aileen wanted to make sure that those who had donated wouldn't miss out on watching the head shave. She went live on facebook during the shave which took place outside her house so her neighbours could watch. Talking about the head shave Aileen said;

'Once my partner started to shave my head, I was so excited! Words can't explain how I was feeling, as I knew I was doing it for a worthwhile cause.

'I am so overwhelmed with the amount of money I've raised just to shave my hair off. I would definitely do it all again. I will 100% be doing something else to raise funds for this amazing charity.'
