Festive fundraising makes a significant impact on patient care
Thanks to the help and kind donations of our community, our festive fundraising campaigns raised £87,000 to date, which covers the cost of the 13-bed patient ward for 14 days.

People got involved and raised money in:
Light up a Life: This annual event gave an opportunity for families and friends to remember those no longer with us. The services of remembrance took place once again and people who could not attend were able to watch the live stream on the Hospice’s website. Light up a Life appeal raised an incredible £25,360.
Caring Christmas: Many lovely people supported the Hospice with donations to help provide a lovely caring Christmas for patients and their families. For some families it was their last Christmas together. The Caring Christmas appeal raised £9,350.
Christmas raffle: The lucky winners scooped an amazing £5,000 between them and the Hospice felt like they were winning with every raffle ticket stub returned. Thank you to everyone who took part, the raffle raised £11,200 for Hospice care at Christmas.
Reindeer Run: At Christmas, thousands of little reindeers helped Santa raise funds for the Hospice. 31 schools took part in the Reindeer Run - dashing, dancing and prancing along the way, raising an amazing £31,000 so far.
Christmas tree collection: In January, with the help of dedicated volunteers the Hospice were able to collect 563 trees through the collection scheme, which raised £10,000.

Sharon Batty, Director of Income Generation and Marketing says: “We’d like to thank our incredible supporters for their generosity, not just during our festive fundraising campaigns but throughout the year too. It is a real testament to the community spirit that when we run these campaigns they come together to help us give our patients and their families the best possible care.”
