VIP visit from the West Yorkshire High Sheriff

We had the honour of the High Sheriff, Mrs Sue K Baker MBE JP DL, visiting our Hospice.

The High Sheriff was welcomed by directors and trustees who show her around the Hospice building.  They talked about the services we provide for local people, thanks to the generosity of the local community who provide at least 75% of our funding.

She was particularly interested in the wellbeing support and advice we provide for patients and their families in addition to the Incare ward.  They also discussed how the Hospice supports and connects to the wider healthcare system.

The High Sheriff said:  ”Thank you to the directors and trustees of The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract for their warm welcome.  I am humbled by their wonderful Outreach and Incare services for those with a wide variety of life limiting illnesses in a place of such peace and calm.”
