Staff appreciation week!

We have a team of amazing employees and volunteers working at the Hospice and to show how much they are appreciated our Staff Wellbeing Group organised a Staff Appreciation Week which ran from Monday, 31 July to Friday, 4 August. 

During this week our staff were able to enjoy BBQ lunches for free. For the Retail Team, we delivered delicious lunches to our 10 shops every day.

For an exciting and added sign of appreciation, we raffled off five days of additional annual leave during the week among all employees.

There was also a staff wellbeing raffle to win some lovely prizes which included a range of toiletries, candles, wine, chocolate, photoshoots and more.

To top the week off, the ice cream van returned on Friday for everyone to enjoy a free ice cream. This was thanks to the generous family who wish to remember their relative who was recently a patient at the Hospice.

Employees said: “It really has been a great week – thanks to the amazing efforts of everyone involved” and “We wanted to send a massive thank you to the Catering team for providing such delicious food over the week and members of the Wellbeing team for coming up with imaginative mocktails.”

There are so many examples of excellent work that goes on across the Hospice, however, what truly shines through is the way we work, the way we pull together as one team, the support to colleagues, and passion for the work we do, the determination for delivering the best we can and the fact that The Prince of Wales Hospice is such a fantastic and successful organisation. An organisation is about the people in it and we are lucky to have the very best team!
