New green house for our patients
In March 2021, our Hospice Physiotherapist, Susanne Young, challenged herself to walk five miles every day for one month to raise funds for a new greenhouse in the Hospice gardens.

Susanne raised an incredible £1,661, which included a generous donation from The Skills Network. Susanne said:

‘Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. I really enjoyed my daily walks in March and felt fitter and healthier as a result.’

Susanne contacted Phoenix Garden Buildings, who generously gave a £1,400 discount on a smart and spacious potting shed which they kindly offered to deliver and erect.  The staff were able to use the new potting shed to plant new seeds, which were sold at our Summer Fair 2021.  The charitable discount on the potting shed meant Susanne had enough funds left over for a separate greenhouse!

In March 2022, our new Hospice greenhouse was finally delivered by Elite Greenhouses. Local greenhouse installers, M Brown & Sons, donated their time to erect the greenhouse, ready for our patients to enjoy this summer.

We want to thank Susanne, and all of the organisations that made these new additions to our gardens possible.
