Local solicitors light up the Hospice's appeal with remembrance stars Local solicitors light up the Hospice's appeal with remembrance stars
The stars were sent out as part of our appeal, and supporters were encouraged to write a message of remembrance on them. They were asked to keep one for themselves to hang on their Christmas tree at home, and to return one to us at the Hospice, where it would take pride of place on the Christmas tree in our reception area.

JWP solicitors jumped at the opportunity to help with the cost of printing the stars, and Marketing Manager, Richard Rockett, explains why:

"As a local business, the team at JWP witness first-hand the important role that the Hospice plays for so many people in our community, and we’re a long-term supporter of the Hospice’s work. We recognise that the help offered by the Hospice is incredibly important for people at their time of need, and many of us have personal stories just like those of so many of our fellow supporters."

Delia Crofts-Turnbull, one of our Family Solicitors and a personal supporter of the Hospice, shares her experience:

“It is about 5 years ago now that we as a family decided that the Christmas Light up A Life campaign was a lovely way to remember loved ones no longer with us. This year we decided to remember two loved ones in the campaign. It is really comforting to know that the Light up a Life stars will be placed not only on our own Christmas tree but also in the Hospice foyer. The feeling of being connected to other human beings in this way has been especially important and poignant this year when human contact has been very limited. I know my mother-in-law and auntie would have been absolutely delighted to have been remembered in this way and connected with such a worthy cause in the hope that their memory could make a difference to the care of people in the future.

I would especially like to thank everyone working in the Hospice for their dedication to a difficult job made ever more difficult by the circumstances presented this year. Let’s hope 2021 brings light into all of our lives.”
