How we celebrate Christmas at the Hospice
Christmas is a special time at the Hospice. We make every effort to create the festive season as special as possible for everyone here. Our patients, families, staff, and volunteers all play a part in making this Christmas comforting and joyful, even during busy and emotional days.

Here’s a look at some of the ways we’ve celebrated this year:

School Choirs on the ward
Local school choirs visited to perform Christmas carols. Their voices filled the rooms with familiar songs, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere for everyone.

Christmas activities for patients
Our Wellbeing team helped patients enjoy the festive season by organising seasonal crafts and activities. These gentle, creative sessions gave patients time to relax, chat, and enjoy doing something seasonal and joyful.

Festive Fun Day for staff and volunteers
Staff came together for a day of Christmas games and quizzes, with a special visit from Mr and Mrs Claus adding to the celebrations.

Christmas lunches
Of course, Christmas wouldn’t feel complete without a special meal by The Caring Kitchen. Both patients and staff enjoyed traditional Christmas lunches, helping the day feel familiar and comforting, just like home.

Elf on the shelf
Our Incare team joined in the fun with Elf on the Shelf, bringing light-hearted moments throughout the month for everyone.

All of this is only possible because of the kindness and generosity of our supporters, and the dedication of our staff and volunteers. Thank you for helping us create moments of comfort and joy when they matter most.
