Hospice Open Day
As part of Hospice Care Week, on Wednesday 12 October we opened our doors to the community to give you the chance to get to know your local Hospice and the services we offer. Our team were on hand to talk you through our new wellbeing services, and volunteering opportunities. The Caring Kitchen also had delicious refreshments available.

Hospice Care Week, an annual nationwide event to celebrate hospice care, is a great opportunity to recognise the importance of the specialist care provided to people who need it most. This year we went yellow, totally transforming our Hospice and charity shops to raise awareness of Hospice care.

There was a real buzz as we showcased the specialist care we provide for patients and their families and to dispel some myths around hospice care. The Open Day showed that the Hospice is a bright and welcoming place.

Everyone who walked through the doors got a warm and friendly welcome and learnt about some of the important and invaluable work we do for the community.

Amanda Darley, Director of Estates and Facilities at the Hospice said: “We had an amazing day and many people got to see how pleasant the Hospice is and a better understanding of what services we provide for people in the community. We want to continue to extend our reach further and we hope those people who attended will tell more people who we are and what we do.”
