Last month, we were delighted to welcome Cllr George Ayre and Antony Bowler, Crematoria Team Leader, to the Hospice. Their visit came after a generous £10,000 donation from the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) scheme, which supports charities through funds raised from metal recycling.
We were proud to give them a tour of the Hospice, showcasing the warm and supportive environment we provide for patients and families. During the visit, our Social Worker Ruth Crowther-Wood had an engaging conversation with them about our Wellbeing and Bereavement Services, explaining how these programmes offer emotional and practical support to those coping with loss and life-limiting illness.
This incredible donation will help us continue delivering compassionate care and vital services to our community. We are deeply grateful to ICCM and to everyone involved for their generosity, which makes a real difference to the lives of local people when they need it most.
