Fundraising highlights: June's incredible community support
As always, June saw some truly inspiring fundraising stories. The generosity and kindness of the community has provided our Hospice with brilliant support.

The fundraising and donations we receive allows us to give our patients the care they deserve. Less than 30% of our funding comes from the NHS, so all your support is vital to us.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to us in June.

Janine and Jackie Selwood
Sisters Janine and Jackie raised £513 for us at the funeral of their brother, David. David’s employer at DS Smith Packaging added a donation of £100 in memory of him. David – nicknamed Smiler – was well known and liked in the community of his hometown, Featherstone, so this was a fitting tribute to him.

Thank you so much to Janine and Jackie.

Pavers Foundation
Pavers Foundation gave us a cheque for £1,600. This was following a successful grant application that the foundation submitted on our behalf for our chair appeal – which is to replace the recliner chairs in our patient bedrooms.

A big thank you to the Pavers Foundation for their support!

Ison Harrison Solicitors
We held our Corporate Golf Day at Pontefract & District Golf Club. Our friends at Ison Harrison Solicitors were the headline sponsors of the sold-out event.

We want to say a big thank you to Ison Harrison Solicitors for their continued generosity.

Ridley & Hall Solicitors – South Elmsall/Pontefract
The team at Ridley & Hall raised an amazing £806.25 by running the Pontefract 10k. Thank you all for your running and fundraising!

Lee Cromack
After his mother died in the Hospice in January, Lee raised money for us from the funeral collection. He has also sold sweets to employers at the business he runs, and from this and the funeral collection, he was able to donate £325.80. Thank you, Lee.

Isla Clegg
For a Brownies fundraising challenge, eight-year-old Isla Clegg chose to raise money for our Hospice. Isla made bracelets and sold them outside her house, raising £55.07 for us. Thank you, Isla!
