Fundraising highlights: December's incredible community support
Once again, we are incredibly grateful for the outstanding support we received from our community in December. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all those who participated in events and helped generate critical funding for our Hospice. Here are a few December highlights:

Reindeer Run
It’s been fantastic to see thousands of pupils from local schools participating in our Reindeer Run! They should all be incredibly proud of themselves. Students have loved transforming into reindeers and raising incredible awareness and much needed funds for hospice care, we’ve even been able to attend some assemblies and meet some of the students ourselves along with our mascots Captain Custard and Princess Sparkle.

Kellington Fashion Show
We’d like to say a big thank you to the incredible team behind the Kellington Fashion Show held in October to support our Hospice. Their planning, coordination and passion culminated in an enjoyable and stylish event that raised an astonishing £664.96. Events like these are only made possible through wonderful community spirit and support.

Pontefract Civic Society
Pontefract Civic Society raised £300 for our Hospice through a raffle at their annual Christmas dinner. We greatly appreciate Pontefract Civic Society’s continued support over the years. This donation will help us provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families during difficult times.

Michelle’s Flowers
Michelle from Michelle's Flowers Ltd held their annual Festive Florals event and amazed us with five beautiful floral demonstrations, which were up for grabs in the raffle. There were also local stall vendors, tasty baked goods and an amazing festive performance from Claire's School of Dance. Through everyone’s generosity and support for the Hospice, they raised an incredible £1,243.74!

We Are Wakefield
We Are Wakefield organised a volunteer day with their business members at our Hospice. They prepared the gardens for our Light Up a Life service of remembrance at the Hospice which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. This included setting up the marquee and clearing the gardens, all in the rain and freezing cold! Despite the weather, they all still came to help out – that’s true commitment! Thank you to We Are Wakefield and all the businesses who came yesterday to support us including JS Recruitment, SoluPak- Sustainable Manufacturing, Ridley & Hall Solicitors, Blossom Training & Development, Mint HR, Crest Commercial Finance, The Wellness Mentor, Hickorys Smokehouse Horbury, Thornton Jones Solicitors, Pink Dragonfly Consulting and, Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Milestone
Milestone Group kindly sent seven volunteers to support us and lend a helping hand to pack down and tidy up the garden from the cancelled Light Up a Life service. Thank you for all your help.

Castleford Tigers players visit with presents for patients
With just 4 days left before Christmas, we received a special visit from Albert Vete and Will Tate from Castleford Tigers. The players delivered lovely boxes of chocolates to our Incare unit to help spread some holiday cheer. Castleford Tigers' corporate partners kindly donated these sweet treats as part of the club's charity outreach. As proud charity partners of Castleford Tigers, we were so grateful Albert and Will took the time to visit our patients. It definitely put smiles on everyone's faces!
