Castleford Tigers lend a hand Castleford Tigers lend a hand
Castleford Tigers are always happy to support the Hospice, at a recent visit we put them to work setting up our gazebos ready for our Light Up A Life service in the Hospice Gardens this Saturday.

A few of the team also made sure they had time to visit some of our patients. When Christine heard the players would be visiting the Hospice, her and her family couldn’t wait for them to pop by and say hello. On Tuesday afternoon, Christine was able to meet Castleford Tigers players Gareth Widdop, Greg Eden, Joe Westerman, and Nathan Massey. The visit was full of laughter and great banter between the players, Christine and her family.

Jack Broadbent explained: “I think it’s great that we can come out in the community and give back. It’s only my first week but it’s great to already be out and about and getting involved.”

Fundraising Manager, Adrian Greenwood added: “It’s a massive help to have them help prep for our Light Up A Life event this year. And when a few of the players make time to go in to the Hospice to see the patients it gives them a bit of a boost being able to see them and talk to them.”

We are extremely grateful to all the players who attended the Hospice for tackling the heavy lifting and taking time to visit our patients, and put a smile on everyone’s faces.
