Business Spotlight - Getting to know S2S
Did you know that here at The Prince of Wales Hospice, we only receive around 25% of funding from the NHS, meaning we have to generate around £2,250,000 just to keep our doors open?

Last year, was the most uncertain time to date. All our fundraising events were cancelled and our shops closed, meaning we had to come up with new ways to raise funds. Patients were unable to see their loved ones, and numerous staff continuned their duties from home.

Luckily we had the support of our amazing corporate Club 5 members which is made up of a network of like-minded businesses who help the Hospice.

We caught up with Chris Hare, Marketing and Business Development Director at S2S, to talk about their business and what Club 5 has done for them.

Located between Barnsley and Rotherham, S2S is an IT asset management and data solutions company which Chris describes as “A one-stop secure solution for clients who are confident that their reputation is protected when it comes to the disposing of their redundant IT.”

Since starting at the company, Chris has talked about his biggest achievement so far, explaining about a restructure that puts the clients even more at the heart of what they do. He said: “My biggest achievement is restructuring the way we work with our customers.

“We pride ourselves on excellent service and we grow our business through recommendations and word of mouth. It’s great to be part of driving the change into becoming a respected services company.

“I take great pride in the quality of the services we provide and the commitment of our staff. Without our staff, we couldn’t have built the business we have today!”

And yet, with all the said, the company has no plans of slowing down within the next 5 years. They currently have a plan in place that will hopefully see the business grow three-fold in the next 5 years.

Their aim is to achieve their goals by expanding their customer portfolio, all whilst maintaining the great relationship they currently hold with their existing customers.

Despite all of the company’s hard work and dedication to the firm, they still manage to find time to support The Prince of Wales Hospice, and this is through the Club 5 membership for businesses.S2S first heard about Club 5 through a company they acquired, but decided to remain a member due to the great relationship they built with our fundraising team in which they became truly inspired about the work we do.

Talking about being a Club 5 member, Chris said: “It’s been a great opportunity to meet other businesses who support the same cause and share our services with each other.

“We wanted to work with a variety of charities as part of our plan and The Prince of Wales Hospice aligned with our values as a business. We’ve done a variety of fundraising activities with them, especially at Easter time and over the Christmas period. When the pandemic allows, we’d love to do a sponsored skydive.”

S2S also managed to connect with a web developer through the great portfolio of business in the Club 5 family.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet other businesses that you may not meet in other circumstances, and it’s nice to work with other companies who have the same values and a shared interest in the Hospice,” explained Chris.
