Business Spotlight - Catching up with Ison Harrison
Did you know we have an exclusive business club that not only helps us, but benefits your company too?

Welcome Club 5.

To give you an insight as to what exactly Club 5 is and how it can help your business, we spoke to Daniel Kenworthy, Branch Manager and Licensed Conveyancer at Ison Harrison Pontefract, for more information on what it’s like being a member.

Like many of us, Daniel and the branch have faced very difficult times during the COVID-19 outbreak, however, he has taken this opportunity and turned 2020 into a very productive year.

“Navigating the past year during a global pandemic has been difficult, but it has also been a successful time for the Pontefract office which has delivered the most productive year during my management.

“Ison Harrison is very client focused and looks to build relationships with local communities, not just from a business point of view but also with local families. I am proud that we can bring a friendly, legal presence to so many local areas.”

Daniel told us that within the next five years, the Pontefract branch of Ison Harrison will continue to thrive and possibly expand into new locations across the town. It is the connection with the local community that both the law firm and The Prince of Wales Hospice have than inspired the firm to become a Club 5 member.

He told us: “We admire the work that the Hospice does within the local community in which we have an office.

“The events created by the Hospice and Club 5 are always well organised, it is a great place to meet local business people and the charity is always willing to help connect like-minded businesses.”

Ison Harrison Pontefract has supported the Hospice for many years now, spear-heading one particular annual event.

“We have supported the Hospice for a number of years now – most recently through a Make a Will Week whereby we offered free wills and in turn encouraged a gifts to be made to the Hospice.

“We are in the process of finalising a new charity and fundraising strategy for 2021 and The Prince of Wales Hospice is featured as one of our four key charities to support. In the new year we’ll be able to share news about new fundraising initiatives that will take place throughout year.”

Having being a member of Club 5 for many years now, Daniel explained to us that meeting other local businesses has been one of the main benefits of the membership and how it helps to spread the word of the services that they offer.

In the future, Daniel is hoping that the firm can take a larger role in delivering talks and guidance for other businesses in Club 5 through seminars and business briefings.

“We have been able to connect with local estate agents such as YOPA and financial advisors such as Richard Hardman, these relationships have played a role in making 2020 a success.

“Club 5 is not an average networking group, the companies are genuinely interested in local business and they all have a common goal which is to support the charity, attend one event and I am sure you will see for yourselves.”
