Alison Roffey: Unsung Hero finalist
We're incredibly proud of our very own Alison Roffey, our Volunteer Complementary Therapist. She has been chosen as a finalist in the Community Foundation Wakefield District 2023 Unsung Heroes Awards.

Alison has been giving Reiki sessions, massages and spiritual guidance to patients at our Hospice since 2019.
Jo Lister, one of her Wellbeing Team members said: “Ali is a fantastic member of the team. She has a kind and gentle manner which helps to put people at ease. She is fantastic with patients and families but also supports staff and takes time to really listen and offer the right therapy for the person. Her massages and Reiki are highly recommended and all her patients say how much her therapies have helped them and how much better they feel. She is a huge asset to our complimentary therapy service and rightly deserves an award.”

The Community Foundation Wakefield District’s annual Unsung Heroes campaign shines a light on local people who work tirelessly and selflessly to make the lives of other people better in some way.

We are so proud of Alison!
