From generous donations to creative challenges and heartfelt tributes, our supporters have once again shown amazing commitment to our Hospice.
Here are just some of the highlights:
Castleford Tigers – match-worn shirt auction
The Castleford Tigers team showed their big hearts by donating 31 match-worn away shirts for auction! These one-of-a-kind jerseys aren’t just memorabilia, they’re helping us provide vital care for patients and families. Thank you, Castleford Tigers, for turning team spirit into community support!
Upton Women’s Institute – fashion show fundraiser
What a stylish way to make a difference! Upton Women’s Institute raised an incredible £728 at their Fashion Show, with a little extra from Durkar WI (£40). Local businesses also stepped up to make the event special:
- Production Park – donated coffee cups
- Rington’s – donated a raffle hamper
- Upton Post Office – donated £30 cash
- The Lanes Café – donated a picnic voucher
A huge thank you to Lorna Harris (President) and Valerie Hanson (Programme Organiser) for bringing in the donation and making this event such a success.
Business Builder Challenge – thank you to our sponsors
Our Business Builder Challenge wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Ridley & Hall and Handlesbanken.
ICCM Donation – £10,000 gift
We were thrilled to welcome Cllr George Ayre and Antony Bowler from the Crematoria Team, who delivered an incredible £10,000 donation through the ICCM scheme. Our Social Worker Ruth gave them a tour and shared how their generosity funds our Wellbeing and Bereavement Services. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact.
Handmade knits by Debra Jowitt
Debra Jowitt warmed our hearts (and hands!) with her beautiful handmade knitted items perfect for Christmas gifts. Thank you, Debra, for sharing your talent and kindness.
Craft packs in memory of Grandad Derek
7-year-old Ella Wilson turned her love for her Great-Grandad Derek into something very special. In his memory, she created craft packs for children visiting over Christmas, bringing joy during a tough time. These packs will also be sold at her school Christmas fair in December, with all proceeds going to the Hospice. Thank you, Ella, for honouring your Grandad in such a thoughtful way.
Motor trade mile challenge – £2,800 raised
What an adventure! Sam Edge and Jack Powell from G3 Remarketing – Vehicle Auctions took on the epic Motor Trade Mille challenge, a 1,000-mile road trip across four countries, including a stop at the Nürburgring. Their £150 car, affectionately named ‘The BADG3R,’ raised an amazing £2,800 for the Hospice! They even hosted a charity vehicle auction at G3 Bedford. Huge thanks for driving change in such a creative way.
Scooter clubs rally together – £1,600 donated
A huge thank you to the Featherstone Spartans, Yorkshire Templars, and Kinsley Drifters Scooter Clubs for donating £1,500 from their annual rally in memory of Donna Press, plus £100 from a funeral collection for Alf Marshall. Your generosity helps us continue caring for patients and families when they need us most.
