Ackworth PramFest donate over £15,5000 to our Hospice
Did you attend the Ackworth PramFest back in August?

The PramFest is an annual event organised by amazing volunteers from the local community. The aim is to organise a fun-filled family day for local people and to raise money for a good cause.

With a raffle, on-line auction and other fundraising, the PramFest team have presented an incredible donation of more than £15,500 to us, to help fund patient care for local families.

John Atha, one of the organisers said about this year’s event: “The Ackworth Pramfest was another outstanding success this year both for the charity and community. With hundreds of people lining the route 20 amazing themed 'prams' raced through the village calling at four local hostelries for a pit stop whose proprietors generously provided refreshments. The finishing line at Ackworth Cricket Club was packed with spectators to cheers the sporting competitors home. The adult race was followed by a junior event around the field. The day continued with fun fair rides, two bars and food outlets and the massive crowd were treated to some excellent live music by six acts continuing into the evening.”

The event gets bigger and better every year which is down to the fantastic commitment of the PramFest committee who organise the whole thing.

Fundraising Manager Adrian Greenwood said: “We want to say a massive thank you to the Ackworth PramFest Committee for organising another successful event, all in aid of The Prince of Wales Hospice. The money will go towards providing specialist care for our patients in the Hospice. We hope to see everyone again next year.”
