Job Role

Hours available:   Wednesday 10:30 – 14:30 Holy Cross Church, Airedale, Castleford
 Thursday 09:30 – 13:30 St Mary Magdalene’s Church Hall Altofts
 Friday 09:30 – 13:30 Lawson Hut Badsworth

Main purpose of the role: 

To assist staff in supporting people who attend the Day Hospice Outreach Service.  This role involves chatting to patients and their carers, assisting them to undertake activities, assisting with setting up sessions etc.

How to apply

To apply for this role, please download and complete a Volunteer Application Form.  It will be reviewed by the Clinical Services Manager and if appropriate you will be invited to the Hospice for an informal interview.

Before you can start volunteering we undertake Occupational Health screening and you will be asked to complete an Occupational Health questionnaire. You will also be asked to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check (previously known as a Criminal Records Bureau check).  In addition two character references will be sought once occupational health clearance has been gained.

All volunteers are required to attend annual training updates on fire, health & safety and moving and handling.
