What a fantastic Platinum Jubilee party

The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the patients were having a wonderful time at our party to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
 
We invited patients, their families, learning disability groups, our colleagues and volunteers to celebrate this very special event with us. Our beautiful garden was the perfect place for it, so even our incare patients had the opportunity to join in. Everybody was really excited about coming together and meet others in a safe and supportive environment.
 
Our catering team provided the BBQ, delicious cakes, tea and coffee. We played music, did a Royal quiz and treasure hunt.
 
All attendees enjoyed it very much. Patients and their families could create special, treasured memories together. They commented:

“We had a fantastic opportunity to organise this Platinum Jubilee party at out Hospice, thanks to a fund by The National Lottery Community Fund.  Involving our patients to activities like this help their wellbeing and cope with every-day life. This party was a great opportunity for them to get out of the house, make new friends and participate in activities, with the added comfort of being in a safe environment.”
