This is Rolo - our new therapy dog!
Meet Rolo, our new therapy dog. He has been kindly gifted to us by a member of our community, after seeing the positive impact they have first-hand on those with life limiting illnesses.

Julie Jennison contacted the Hospice as she wanted to do something for our patients. She knew her mum’s robotic pet had brought her a lot of happiness. While her mum wasn’t under our care, she thought this therapy dog would be a lovely gift for our ward. Julie aptly named him Rolo after her mum’s last dog.

Julie said: “Rolo is donated in loving memory of mum, Hazel Lamb of Mansfield. She struggled in her last two months of illness and her dementia cat brought her so much comfort.”

The dog is a therapy tool by Joy for All, their award winning innovative products are an effective therapeutic treatment alternative and can help overcome loneliness, reduce stress and anxiety, and alleviate social isolation. They can also help in cognitive decline by delivering joy, fun and happiness to improve quality of life.

Rolo is already hard at work keeping our patients company on the ward and we know he’ll bring everyone so much joy!
