International Women's Day 2023

Today is International Women's Day!

At our Hospice, we believe in celebrating women's achievements, and striving for equality. We're extremely lucky to be surrounded by such hard-working, inspirational women in our Hospice and our community.

This year, we’d like to highlight one very inspirational women who founded the modern Hospice movement. Dame Cicely Saunders revolutionised the way in which society cares for the ill, the dying and the bereaved.

Dame Cicely's legacy is still evident in Hospices around the world, and can best be summarised by one of her most famous quotes: “You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”
