Glyn Jepson cycled 850 miles to support hospice care
Glyn Jepson and his Tour de Cas team was all over the media in spring 2022 about his great challenge of cycling from Castleford to Toulouse in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and the Prince of Wales Hospice.

His fantastic effort succeeded in raising £11,641, which was split between the two charities.  He presented us the supporting cheque on the grounds of Castleford Tigers.

Glyn cycled through 16 days and covered 1,367km, which saw him arrive in Toulouse to see his favourite team and long-time Hospice supporters, the Castleford Tigers, play in the Super League on Sunday, 12 June 2022.

In 2021, Glyn was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and oesophagus.  A year on from his diagnosis, after enduring chemotherapy and a five-hour surgery, Glyn wanted to prove that there is “life in the old dog yet”.

He explained: “I came across people who struggled with their cancer treatments and I want to show that it is not the end of the world and inspire them to have a bit of hope that life is not over after all that.”

We cannot thank enough to Glyn and his team for the amazing support they gave us to continue to help local patients and their families.
