Fundraising highlights: March's incredible community support
As always, our community overwhelmed us with its tremendous support in March. Thank you to everyone who attended events and helped raise vital funds for our Hospice.

Here are some highlights from March:

Nike Castleford
The Nike Castleford staff have been participating in the company’s Global Giving scheme, which sponsors them to volunteer with sports coaching. The staff at Nike Castleford are donating money raised from their volunteering to our Hospice, which has been £1,102.69 so far.

It’s inspiring to see companies giving back to their communities in such impactful ways. Thank you to all the staff who have taken part; we really appreciate the time you have given.

Ridley & Hall Solicitors – South Elmsall/Pontefract
Ridley & Hall Solicitors in South Elmsall and Pontefract put on an event at Tooth and Tiger in Pontefract on Tuesday 12th March as part of National Conveyancing Week. This event featured a buffet from The Caring Kitchen Catering, which is the commercial arm of the catering team at the Hospice.

All the ticket proceeds went to our Hospice. £715 was raised, which is going towards buying a new marquee. Thank you so much to everyone involved for your generosity and kindness.

Garforth and District Lions Club
Garforth and District Lions Club donated £1000 to the Hospice, which has been used to buy a patient’s chair. A huge thank you to the Garforth and District Lions Club for their generosity. They are a fantastic club that donates all the money it raises to charitable causes. Such incredible support allows us to provide patients with the comfort they need.

The Rotary Club of Normanton
The Rotary Club of Normanton organised an event in which The Featherstone Male Voice Choir performed a concert at the Featherstone Methodist Church on Saturday March 9th. The money raised was given to our Hospice and Wakefield Hospice.

At the close of the performance, The Rotary Club’s president, Jennifer James, presented a cheque of £500 to Dr Ruth Roche, our Deputy Chair on the Board of Trustees at the Hospice. Thank you so much to everyone in the choir, and The Rotary Club of Normanton for their continued support of us.

Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea
We had a brilliant Afternoon Tea on Mother’s Day (March 10th). This took place at The Queen’s Mill Tea Rooms in Castleford, and included an excellent selection of sandwiches, homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, assorted mini cakes, tea and coffee. In addition, there was an optional craft activity where the attendees could paint their own mug or photo frame.

This raised £599.54, so we want to thank everyone who attended. We hope you had a lovely afternoon.
