Fabulous five brave the shave for the Hospice!

Inspired by the fabulous Michelle Grainger, Tracy Ibbotson, Robert Prudhoe, Linda Drake, Liam and Caroline Mcleish-Dawson decided to have their hair shaved off to raise funds for the Hospice.

On Wednesday 16th October they were broadcast live, having their hair shaved during an Outreach session. Linda wasn’t originally going to have hers done, she had come along to support the others. However on the day, during a conversation, she was offered an amount of money that she couldn’t turn down for the Hospice....£500! Like a superstar, she stepped up and had hers done too.

Becki, Community Fundraising Officer at the Hospice, caught up with the participants on the day. Tracy said; “Michelle Grainger inspired us to do something amazing for charity, we wanted to raise money for an incredible cause, The Prince of Wales Hospice.”

Robert added; “My friends said you’re not going to do it! I simply replied you watch me.”

Tracy who is the Reverend at Holy cross church in Airedale was even given money after the event during a funeral! They obviously noticed her hair (or lack of) and gave her money too.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who braved having their hair shaved, and also to Andrea from the hair branch in Castleford who kindly supported this incredible event. Between our five brave supporters they have raised a staggering total of £2,254.
