Charity of the Year partnership hits 50% target

Thursday, 13 October 2016
Castleford based company, Docman, chose The Prince of Wales Hospice as their Charity of the Year back in June. Through staff fundraising activities, the organisation has already raised more than £2,500 for the Hospice.

Staff put their fitness to the test by taking on a 170 mile ‘way of the roses’ static bike ride in July, and raised over £1,200 in sponsorship battling through foamy obstacles at the Hospice’s ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition last month.

Other fundraising activities planned over the coming months include; collecting unused foreign coins when staff return from their holidays, staff volunteering days at the Hospice and seasonal fundraising in the lead up to Christmas.

Tracey Mearns, Partnership Development Coordinator at the Hospice, said; “Docman donated over £700 to the Hospice In 2015 and we were thrilled when they chose to support us as their Charity of the Year partner for the upcoming year. The commitment and enthusiasm the staff have for fundraising is fantastic and we’re delighted they have already raised £2,500 of their target. We wish them the best of luck in smashing their £5,000 target.”

Kelly-Anne Nash, HR Manager at Docman said; We’ve enjoyed partnering with The Prince of Wales Hospice for the past few years and are committed to continue to help where we can.
We have a fantastic team here at Docman, whose creative ideas have helped to shape some great activities to ensure we keep our momentum going.  We’re very proud of our achievements so far -
to say we have reached 50% of our target already is a great achievement.’
