Summer Appeal 2025

Patients and families who come to our Hospice have faced the unbearable reality of a terminal diagnosis, both emotionally and physically. In the face of such overwhelming challenges, Nurse Manager, Kate, leads a team of 25 dedicated nurses who bring comfort, dignity, and expert care to every patient and family they meet.

"Together, we care for patients and their families through some of the most vulnerable and emotional moments of their lives. It is not just about giving medications or managing symptoms, it is about holding a hand when someone is scared, helping a daughter just be a daughter again, or simply listening when a patient needs to talk." - said Kate.

“Alan is one of those patients you really build a connection with. He doesn’t say much, but over time, I got to know what he needs without him having to ask. We have built a quiet trust. As his condition has worsened, that unspoken reassurance means even more. He knows I will be here, and that matters to him.” – said Sandi, Registered Nurse.

But providing this care is becoming more difficult.

Rising costs and limited government funding mean our Hospice, like many others across the UK, is facing increasing pressure. Some hospices have already been forced to cut services or reduce staff, but with your help, we can make sure that doesn't happen here.
