About Mr Ken Moss

My husband Ken, although already ill with COPD and Prostate Cancer became very unwell in January 2018. On the 20th April he was urgently admitted to Wakefield Pinderfields Hospital as he was in excruciating pain. The next day he was diagnosed with Terminal lung cancer that had spread to his chest, liver and spine. He was given 3 months to live. At that point it became our sole objective to get him home as quickly as possible to end his days, at the time we thought that was the best thing. On 30th April a place was found at the Pontefract Prince of Wales Hospice. This was so the pain could be managed and he could come home. Within a couple of days I was told my husband had only days left to live, all together he lived 21 days after diagnosis. But thankfully he spent those final days at the hospice, where he was cared for, loved, given incredible pain relief, maintained his dignity and I and all of his friends and family could be there as and when we wanted. We too were cared for, just the same as my husband. I will never be able to thank the people that work here for the love and dedication . They helped us get through the worst time of our lives, thank you just isn’t enough. My niece Katie Yates ( now Plant as she is married) and her husband Sam Plant took part in the Pontefract Cyclathon on behalf of Ken and raised £770.50 + gift aid . I also have further funds to add from the same Cyclathon to the value of £235.50 + gift aid Plus I also have to proceeds of the funeral collection to add in memory of this amazing man , Husband , Dad, Grandad, Brother in law and Friend xx
