Phillip Vickers

At 74 I plan to take part September memory walk month in memory of my wife Pauline who passed away very peacefully in the hospice on 23rd January and her daughter Karen who sadly died virtually a year earlier also at the hospice. My hope is to more than match the donations given in place of flowers for both and try to raise a further £500 for the hospice.

About Phillip Vickers

Pauline and I used to walk quite a bit in the Dales before a spinal operation put her into a wheelchair in 1989, since when my walking has been restricted to no more than a mile or two at a time, so I guess a good bit of training might be required. To that end I started doing some health walks, but unfortunately they were cancelled only two weeks after I started. I plan to walk the original planned route or otherwise extend one of those walks from Walton to and around the lake at Anglers Country Park. In view of all the wonderful work done by the hospice I hope to raise as much as possible for the them in these tough times.

Thanks to friends, relations and neighbour's I have been able to raise my target far above the level I expected, especially due to lockdown making it impossible to see or contact as many people as I might otherwise have done.

With thanks to...
