Tesco Bags of Help - vote for the Hospice!

Help the Hospice bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

Vote in store every time you shop...

Tesco's Bags of Help scheme offers community groups a share of the money generated from the 5p carrier bag charge. You can now vote in store during May and June on who should receive grants of£4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awards.

The Hospice is up for the vote in the Pontefract and Castleford stores.

Fresh air and the outdoors can be so beneficial for patients' well-being. The Hospice has extensive grounds, incorporating flower beds and borders, tree-lined paths, seating areas, bird feeding and nesting areas, an allotment, greenhouse and celebration pavers (many in memory of former patients). All Incare bedrooms have direct access to the gardens and there is also a newly refurbished patio area directly from the newly refurbished garden room.

How a Bags of Help grant will help

With Bags of Help funding, we will be able to add a gazebo with patio furniture, providing shelter close to the main building. Tables and chairs for use around the grounds are also needed - for use by patients and their families.

Amanda Darley, Facilities Manager said:“These new seating areas will encourage patients and visitors to make the most of iour wonderful gardens, which offer calm and tranquility at what can be a time of great stress and upset.”

What to do

Voting is open in stores throughout May and June. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.

When you shop at Tesco, please cast a vote for the Hospice. Thank you.

Help us add a gazebo and seating, so patients and families can make the most of our beautiful gardens.
