My name is Jess, and I am a Nurse Associate here at The Prince of Wales Hospice. For over 10 years, I’ve cared for patients and families at some of the hardest moments of their lives, and I’ve seen how the right equipment can change everything. People often arrive feeling frightened and unsure, just as Poppy did when she came to us after being told she had terminal cancer. Like many, she thought hospice care meant the end but she soon discovered something very different. Care here is about comfort, dignity and helping people live as well as possible for whatever time they have left. Those moments of reassurance, safety and compassion don’t happen by accident; they rely on having the right equipment in place.
