Well done to June for taking on a Wing Walk to raise vital funds for the Hospice

Monday, 24 September 2018
June has been a nurse all her life and ever since she retired she’s been fundraising, taking on a number of challenges. Her latest challenge was a Wing Walk to raise funds for the Hopsice.

June said the wing walk is something she’s always wanted to do. She had one booked 11 years ago but concerned for her safety, her Husband has always been reluctant to it, until finally he agreed that she could go ahead and book it around  4 months ago.

June has completed the Wing Walk as part of her 80th birthday celebrations, she told us how she didn’t feel nervous on the day and how exciting it was.

The  wing walk was on a Stearman plane and June said it was very fast, incredibly windy and noisy. June has also done a Skydive in the past, she said she was much more anxious when she did that in comparison to the Wing Walk.

June is hoping to have raised £1000 for the Hospice. When asked where the Wing Walk ranked out of everything she’s done, June told us it was really good but White Water Rafting was at the top of her list.

June said she can’t ever imagine stopping to put her feet up, and is already thinking about what to do for her next fundraising challenge.
