To celebrate their 25th year of supporting the Hospice, HARIBO hosted the most recent ‘Club 5’ get-together at its manufacturing facility in Castleford. To date, HARIBO have raised over £225,000 to support patient care.

The Club 5 meeting was held on Thursday 19th September, and the occasion saw more than 40 business representatives from across the district mark the milestone, raising a glass to the care and devotion that the Hospice has provided to the local community.

As a thank you for the brand’s support, Jon Hughes, Managing Director of HARIBO UK and Ireland, was presented with a bespoke piece of memorabilia; a duo of stunning, star-shaped pieces of artwork. Made up of words and phrases which recap the fundraising activities that the team has undertaken during its collaboration with the Hospice, the stars will take pride of place at HARIBO’s Pontefract and Castleford sites.

Jon Hughes said; “It has been an absolute honour working alongside the Hospice for all these years. They are a fantastic team who work tirelessly to deliver support to people in their time of need. We were incredibly touched by the gifts that we were given. The stars will be a treasured addition to our offices and a daily reminder of the positive impact that can be achieved when we pull together as a team.”

Tracey Mearns, Partnership and Development Coordinator at the Hospice said; “We simply couldn’t continue to provide care to local people with life-limiting illnesses, without the support that we receive from businesses. HARIBO has been an integral part of the care we provide to patients and their families. It was a pleasure to be able to give something back and to show our appreciation for all that the team at HARIBO has done for us and our patients over the years.”

Following the presentation of the artwork, HARIBO was also gifted a celebratory cake which was kindly commissioned by the Hospice. Entering a new era of support, HARIBO is already putting the wheels in motion to make the 25th year of fundraising its best yet.
