Fundraising highlights: March’s incredible community support
Our community continues to amaze us with its generosity and support. We are incredibly grateful for the fundraising efforts throughout the past month, helping us provide essential care and services. Here are some of the highlights:

UK Plumbing Supplies – Golf challenge match funding
A huge thank you to Stuart Stirling, who visited us with a generous cheque for £1,000 from his employer, UK Plumbing Supplies. This fantastic donation is match funding for the Golf Challenge that Stuart completed in June last year.

Sharlston Colliery reunion
William Stringer kindly brought in a donation of £250 on behalf of the Sharlston Colliery Reunion. Their gathering on Friday, 28 February 2025, raised an incredible £500, which was shared between our Hospice and another charity. They all had a great night, and are looking forward to the next reunion.

The Yorkshire Roses WI – Raffle fundraiser
A heartfelt thank you to The Yorkshire Roses WI group based in Pontefract, which raised an amazing £350 for us through its year-long raffle. We were also delighted that Jo Dunford, our Wellbeing Lead, and Chris Cook, our Occupational Therapist, had the opportunity to attend one of their meetings. They shared insights into our wellbeing services and the impact these have on patients and their loved ones.

Inner Harmony Spiritual Centre – Fundraising evening
We were thrilled to receive a £300 cash donation from Inner Harmony Spiritual Centre. They hosted a special fundraising evening in support of our Hospice. Thank you to everyone who organised and attended the event.

Sovereign Health Care – Grant for our Chair Exercise Group
We are delighted to announce that we have received a generous £2,500 grant from Sovereign Health Care to support our physiotherapy chair exercise group. This generous grant will help run our chair exercise group for the next 12 months, helping those in our community move more and feel better.

Suzi’s Boutique - Fashion show
In March, Suzi’s Boutique in Pontefract hosted a fabulous charity fashion show, raising an incredible £2,500 for our Hospice. The event showcased the latest trends while also giving back to the community. A huge thank you to everyone who organised and attended the event and raised such an incredible amount.

Garforth and District Lions - donation
We received a very kind donation of £1,000 from Garforth and District Lions, which was raised through their annual Santa collection. This contribution will help fund the replacement of three mobile shower chair commodes for our Incare rooms, part of our effort to replace a total of 12. Garforth and District Lions have been long-standing supporters of ours, and have donated £1,000 annually for the past four years, so we are hugely grateful for their continued support.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who continues to support our Hospice. Your generosity makes such a difference to the care we provide. Thank you!
