85 Warriors Take on Gruelling Course for Hospice

Wednesday, 6 July 2016

A huge congratulations to our amazing community fundraisers who took part in the Total Warrior challenge last month!

The team of 85 warriors took on the gruelling 12k obstacle course at Bramham Park in Leeds. They tackled 30 punishing obstacles, 10 tons of ice and 100 tons of mud to raise funds for the Hospice.

The team was formed by Simon at Body Design F.I.T, who has raised lots for the Hospice over the last 20 years along with his clients, after his mum passed away from cancer and father-in-law who passed away in the hospice.
The team conquered the course for the third year running and everyone crossed the finish line!
The fundraising total is yet to be finalised, but the team hope to have raised a magical £10,000 for the Hospice, after raising £7,500 the year before. Simon would like to thank Body Design clients and instructors who made the day very memorable, being the largest team entry for the second year running. Simon's ambition for next year is to " fill a full wave entry for the Warrior all with local people raising money for a great local charity who's life line is raising funds each year in excess of 2 million pounds to function. Local people should feel proud not only in participating in our team, but supporting family and friends enduring the gruelling event. It brings about great team spirit, bust most of all local pride in our community in that we can do our own little bit to enable the hospice to run."

The team then celebrated their achievement at an after party at The Ambience. Thank you to warriors, Michelle Grainger of Michelle’s Flowers for organising the party.
