The Caring Kitchen Kick-Off!
The Prince of Wales Hospice is excited to announce its new partnership with Lock Lane Rugby Club! This exciting collaboration starts tonight, as Lock Lane goes head-to-head with Normanton Knights.

These two local non-profit organisations will be working together to raise money for the Hospice and provide quality catering for local rugby teams and fans, with all proceeds made going towards funding vital palliative care.

The Hospice’s catering facility, the Caring Kitchen, will set up shop in the sports centre’s function room during match days. Spectators will be able to satiate their game day hunger with classic, café style goodies – all homemade by our Hospice catering staff.

Additionally, the Caring Kitchen will be the caterer for guest and fundraising events held in the Lock Lane function room, and will be available for the public to book for any other events.

Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Estates and Facilities, Amanda Darley, explains why this partnership is so important for the Hospice;

‘The Caring Kitchen will provide the Hospice with an additional revenue stream to help towards the funds it needs to raise each year and make it more sustainable.

We hope it will extend our reach, and raise awareness of the Hospice more widely across the community.’

Both the Hospice and Lock Lane Rugby Club hope that this new venture will be the start of many to come.

Derry, a spokesperson for the rugby club told us what this collaboration means to their team;

‘We see this as the start of a great partnership and we are proud to be working with and helping such a worthwhile and much appreciated charity, it’s something close to our hearts. We see it as helping each other to help others.’

We wish Lock Lane and our Caring Kitchen the best of luck for their first opening, and hope everyone enjoys the delicious, homemade treats!
