Talking Shop…….

When I talk to people about the Hospice, many express real surprise that it is not fully funded by the NHS.  In fact, a large percentage of the revenue required for the Hospice’s running costs comes from the shops and fundraisers.

Over recent months, our shops have experienced a shortage of donated items.  Unfortunately this has had an impact on our sales; without stock to sell our income is reduced.  Ultimately, of course, this will affect the work of the Hospice.  Please, please don’t allow this to happen.

We urgently need your unwanted clothing, shoes, handbags, bedding, curtains, towels, books, ornaments, toys – almost anything which is in a good, serviceable condition that you no longer want – we can even offer a collection service, if you have a large quantity of items to give, or are unable to get to your local shop.

If you are buying a new suite and your old one is still clean and re-usable, why not give our Furniture Shop in Castleford a ring?  They are always pleased to accept donations of all kinds of furniture and household items, which are clean and re-usable, to re-sell.  The Furniture shop offers a collection and delivery service, and a free house clearance service; contact them on 01977 556836.
