Hospice nurses celebrate national Nurses Day

Nurses from the hospice will celebrate national Nurses Day on Tuesday 12th May 2009 by releasing 20 balloons , each tagged with a message from a patient for whom they have cared, or a patient’s family member.

One of the comments is: “The nurses are wonderful – we cannot praise them enough. Bless you all and thank you so much.”

Rachel Conway, Ward Manager, said, “Nurses Day this year is specially to celebrate innovations in care and we are delighted all our improvements in care have been led by a dedicated member of our nursing team”

"Plans to improve care continue into the future. To reflect Government plans to roll out hospice care to patients with non-malignant diseases, nurses will help extend care to patients with heart failure and respiratory conditions.“
