Day therapy is a service for people at any stage of a life-limiting illness who continue to live at home but who could benefit from support.
At day therapy patients meet other people in a similar situation, gaining social support from each other.
Patients can access specialist nursing and medical care, including reviews of symptoms and medication and support with emotional and spiritual difficulties.
Specialist help gaining and retaining physical independence, managing extreme fatigue and getting equipment and support for independence at home, is available from our physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
Patients can get involved in art and craft therapeutic activities.
Complementary therapies are also available by appointment as well as group relaxation sessions and the opportunity to learn simple touch techniques.
We offer a 12 week structured programme of support and care with education , relaxation and continuous assessment of needs. Patients will be assessed and may be offered self help group or be discharged from the service.
