The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract opened in 1989. Working together with our local community we have expanded and developed our services to care for anyone in our area with a life-limiting illnesses.
As a specialist palliative care hospice we are able to offer our patients a stay at the hospice, a visit to day-care and the services of our Lymphoedema clinic. Importantly, we look after families and carers too, including giving them special ‘feel good’ support.
It is our aim to provide the best quality care by responding to the needs and desires of our patients, their families and their carers. None of this would be possible without our multiskilled professional team and our dedicated supporters working and caring together.
We work together with other health care and social care professionals and as we are a registered charity, and not part of the NHS, we rely on generous public support to help us raise the great majority of our annual running costs.
The Prince of Wales Hospice is registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, which is the independent regulator of care in England.
