Donald Reid knew all about The Prince of Wales Hospice. He stayed three times for help controlling his pain, symptoms and the side effects of his medication. He also regained strength after chemotherapy with the help of the hospice cooks.

In between stays the volunteer bus drivers collected Donald for weekly visits to day hospice, where he was monitored by a doctor, had chance to make friends with other patients and even try relaxing treatments. The care also helped Donald’s wife, Val, feel less isolated.

“I don’t know how we would have coped without the hospice. Well, we would have suffered and it would have been very difficult. The hospice has been a saviour.”

Donald Reid

Gifts in wills help us care for people just like Donald who are from the Five Towns and are suffering from cancer or another life limiting illnesses, such as motor neurone disease or heart disease.

It is thanks to the generosity of people remembering the hospice in their will that we have been able to give our patients just what they need to enjoy the best quality of life that they can.

With a gift in your will we can carry on caring for future generations just as we cared for Donald.
