    Santa Dash December 2010
Two-hundred and fourteen Santa’s braved the elements to take part in the Prince of Wales Hospice's third Santa Dash on Sunday 12th December.  The course took them around the perimeter of Pontefract Park and although slippery under foot some dashed their way through the melted snow while others chose to take the slower (and safer!) Santa-saunter option.
    Dog Walk August 2010
Dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their human families along to Pontefract Park for a lovely Sunday morning stroll.  Asda, Haribo, Pets at Home and Cherished Pet Products of South Elmsall all supported the event, which even attracted Cruella de Ville and a rather large shaggy dog who walked the course on two legs!
    Tea at Three July 2010
Hundreds of people flocked to our Tea at 3 Party in the hospice gardens to enjoy  scrumptious cream teas to the relaxing sounds of the fabulous band, ‘Easy Street.’ The cake stall and plant stall sold out, the white elephant sold hundreds of bargains and prizes were won on the tombola, raffle and children’s games, raising £1300 in total.
    Starlight Walk June 2010
Ladies were out in force for this year’s walk which saw a cavalcade of orange t-shirts and flashing bunny ears take to the streets at midnight in support of the hospice.  SSE Ferrybridge ‘C’ Power Station, sponsored the event, with fantastic support from many other local companies.
    Cyclothon May 2010
Cyclists of all ages rose to the challenge of one of three routes in the hospice’s 15th anniversary of this popular event which was sponsored by Harworth Estates.
    Memory Walk April 2010
Over 400 people took part in the Ackworth cross country walk, with local broadcaster Ian Clayton giving a few words of encouragement before the spectacular balloon release to mark the start of this lovely, family walk in memory of loved ones.  Oakworth Financial Services Ltd sponsored the event.
