Each August our four legged friends follow the 2.3 mile social stroll around the racecourse for Paws in the Park. Every dog gets a certificate at the end and the dog with the most sponsorship gets a special doggy prize and features on the next year’s posters! If you haven’t got a dog, why not borrow one?!

A visually spectacular dash also takes place at Pontefract Park – the annual Santa Dash.

Every entrant receives a free Santa suit in advance of the race and Santa’s as young as three weeks and as mature as 71 have completed the dash and got their finisher’s medal. 

The more relaxing Memory Walk is a family-friendly stroll through the countryside each spring. Many walk in memory of someone special, releasing a balloon in their memory as the Walk is launched, but others just come for the atmosphere, exercise and fresh air.

Tea at 3 is a summer tea party in the hospice gardens. Games, stalls, music and refreshments make a fun afternoon for the whole family. If you can’t join ours, why not organise one of your own?
